Pingwenn, aka Gwenn Neth, is a craftie chick sharing her creations and ideas with the world. Origin of pingwenn: the name was inspired from a “pin“. Defined as being a device used for fastening objects or materials together. With that in mind pingwenn was created: creating accessories for people and their pets.
Gwenn incorporates the elements of nature in her work and brings it into view in a new way. Feeling their is something refreshing and alive about noticing the little things that often get overlooked. She uses natural fibers such as yarns, fabrics, and roving, as well as recycled and vintage materials. From crocheting, felting, sewing, crewel, embroidery and more; she incorporates beads, buttons and other items to add dimension, texture and a sense of individuality to each creation. The vintage and recycled items carry a story with them about their past; in which, Gwenn gives them a new life, a new story.
Gwenn has been crafting all her life and crocheting since she was seven. Remembering sitting in her grandmothers den in a rocking chair next to her grandmother by the fireplace, keeping warm as they sat quietly enjoying the warmth and a basket of yarn with hook in hand. Custom creations are a favorite, loving a challenge and inspired to go outside the limits most of us are familiar with. The famous saying “you can’t do that”, reminds her of the inspiring words of her grandfather that she could do anything she put her mind to. “You dream it, I’ll create it”.
Gwenn’s mind never allows for a dull moment, with her imagination thinking “what if…” She has created hundreds of custom handmade designs and many patterns.
